Stephen Duplantis grew up in Erath, Louisiana on the Gulf coast. After graduating from LSU in 1989, he earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1992.
After five years of civil practice in Los Angeles, Stephen made his way to Dallas and eventually entered the criminal defense world as a Dallas County assistant public defender. During his more than 10 years as an assistant public defender, he handled a wide array of cases from misdemeanors to felonies. During his last 8 years as a public defender, he handled exclusively felony cases and trials ranging from murder to sexual assault of child to possession of drugs. Stephen’s practice has grown since he left the defender’s office and now includes Federal practice and State cases throughout Texas.
While Stephen’s strength is his trial practice, he understands that each case has different goals and works hard to achieve those. Stephen has won victories for clients during their most difficult times. He has the courtroom experience and legal knowledge to handle any case that a client may face.
Stephen is admitted to practice in Texas and California and Northern District of Texas.
Stephen Lives in East Dallas with his wife, Dallas veterinarian Effie Giannopoulos, and his two sons Rémy and André.
